On October 28, 2025, The Babel Club and Locust Projects presented CIRCENSE — an artist dinner, a shared participatory experience with future exhibiting artist Edison Peñafiel.
Guests stepped into Peñafiel’s visual universe for an intimate preview of his forthcoming project De Profundis Clamavi ad Astra, set to premiere at Locust Projects in November 2026. The ambitious work has been awarded the prestigious VIA Art Fund Artists Production & Exhibition Grant.
The evening began with a compelling conversation between Peñafiel and Lorie Mertes, Executive Director of Locust Projects, hosted at Dot Fiftyone Gallery, offering insight into the conceptual and material foundations of the project.
The night culminated in a celebratory sensory dinner mise-en-scène inspired by the artist’s practice — a theatrical, immersive gathering where dialogue, community, and art converged around the table.
