Flamingo Noir, the second edition of The Babel Club, was a true celebration in support of 2B NonProfit’s mission.
In the 1930s, when the world seemed to hold its breath, Miami put on a new suit: clean lines, soft curves, pastel façades. Art Deco arrived by sea, carrying with it the promise of a different future. Hotels rose as stages for endless possibilities.
After the war, as the world rebuilt from ruins and silence, Miami became a refuge of pleasure. Art Deco, once born as a bright dream, turned into the backdrop of a restless modernity—fleeting glamour, consumption, the pursuit of escape.
That night, the table no longer carried soft colors. Here, everything turned black. Art Deco remained alive, but reversed—like a negative revealing another truth: the hidden desire that dwells in what cannot be seen.
Is desire found in owning what shines, or in imagining what the shadows conceal?
In revealing everything, or in leaving something to mystery?
We all share these questions.
At The Babel Club, we raise a glass: to what is unseen, to the light born from shadow, and to the stories Miami chose to suggest rather than tell.
Flamingo Noir was made possible with the support of Table Tales, Topo Chico, Dot Fiftyone Gallery, and Brainding Design.
